Job Description:

• Diagnosis: Conduct thorough physical examinations, review medical histories, and interpret specialized tests such as blood work (e.g., ANA, RF, ESR) and imaging (X-rays, MRI, Ultrasound).
• Treatment Management: Develop individualized treatment plans using medications like DMARDs (Disease-Modifying Antirheumatic Drugs), biologics, and corticosteroids.
• Specialized Procedures: Perform joint aspirations (removing fluid) and intra-articular injections (injecting medicine like hyaluronic acid or steroids directly into joints).
• Chronic Disease Monitoring: Provide long-term care for progressive conditions, adjusting therapies to manage symptoms and prevent permanent joint damage.
• Collaboration: Work in multidisciplinary teams with primary care doctors, orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. 

• Education: A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
• Residency: Completion of a 3-year residency in Internal Medicine or Pediatrics.
• Fellowship: 2–3 years of specialized fellowship training in Rheumatology.
• Certification: Board certification in Rheumatology (e.g., from the American Board of Internal Medicine) and an active medical license.
• Key Skills: Strong diagnostic reasoning, empathy for chronic patients, proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and effective communication.
