Job Description:
Responsibilities
Verify Benefits: Contact insurance providers to confirm coverage, deductibles, and eligibility prior to procedures.
Authorization Support: Secure and track pre-authorizations and referrals required by insurance payers.
Claims Management: Prepare, submit, and track insurance claims. Handle denials and process appeals.
Patient Communication: Explain coverage details, out-of-pocket costs, and billing policies to patients clearly and empathetically.
Record Keeping: Maintain up-to-date patient files, update practice management software, and generate reports on claim statuses.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Previous clerical or administrative experience, specifically working with medical billing or health insurance.
Knowledge: Familiarity with standard medical/dental terminology, CPT/ICD-10 codes, and various payer guidelines (Medicare, private insurance).
Soft Skills: Strong communication, detail orientation, and customer service skills.
