BANKING AUDITOR(TREASURY FOCUS)

Job Description:

Responsibilities
 
  • Liquidity and Cash Flow Auditing: Verify the accuracy of cash forecasts, daily cash positions, and working capital reports. Benchmark projected sources of funds against actuals.
     
     
  • Risk Management Assessment: Evaluate how the bank identifies and mitigates foreign exchange (FX), interest rate, and counterparty risks. Verify that hedging instruments and derivatives are properly approved and valued on daily revaluation rates.
     
     
  • Investment Portfolio Controls: Assess internal controls over investment portfolios, bank accounts, and authorized signatories to prevent unauthorized payments.
     
     
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure treasury activities comply with internal risk limits, regulatory guidelines (such as Central Bank requirements), and accounting standards.
     
     
  • Reporting and Audit Documentation: Draft detailed, constructive audit reports on the adequacy of controls and present findings to management and Audit Committees.
     
     
  • Continuous Monitoring: Execute ongoing internal risk assessments to identify control trends, policy gaps, and areas requiring process improvements.
     
 
Qualifications & Requirements
 
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics. Advanced degrees or certifications (CPA, CIA, CFA) are highly preferred.
     
     
  • Experience: Typically 4-10+ years of experience in public accounting, internal auditing, or first-/second-line treasury and risk roles.
     
     
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial analytics, data analytics tools, and automated treasury management systems.
