Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Diagnosing Disorders: Evaluating symptoms related to the kidneys, bladder, urethra, and male reproductive organs (testicles, prostate, and penis).
- Testing & Imaging: Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests like urinalysis, cystoscopies, ultrasounds, and CT scans.
- Surgery: Performing a wide range of surgeries, from minimally invasive robotic/laparoscopic procedures to complex reconstructive or oncologic operations.
- Patient Management: Documenting medical histories, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and providing follow-up care.
Key Qualifications & Skills
- Education: A medical degree (MD or DO) followed by a 5-6 year urology residency program.
- Board Certification: Active state medical license and board certification or eligibility through organizations like the American Board of Urology (for the U.S.).
- Surgical Proficiency: Advanced skills in operating specialized medical equipment and surgical tools.
- Soft Skills: High levels of empathy, strong communication skills, and critical thinking for complex cases.
