Job Description:

• Virtual Triage: Assessing the urgency of a patient's symptoms over the phone or video to determine if they need emergency care, a doctor’s appointment, or home-based self-care.
• Patient Education: Guiding patients and families on managing chronic conditions (like diabetes or hypertension), explaining medication protocols, and providing pre- or post-operative instructions.
• Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM): Tracking vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate, or blood glucose) using digital tools and alerting the care team to any abnormalities.
• Care Coordination: Collaborating with physicians and other specialists to update care plans and document interactions in Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Mental Health Support: Providing telemental health services, including assessment, counseling, and monitoring for conditions like anxiety or depression. 
   

• Education: A Nursing Diploma, Associate Degree (ADN), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required. Many employers now prefer a BSN.
• Licensure: An active, unrestricted RN license. For remote roles, you may need a Compact Nursing License or multiple state licenses to treat patients in different locations.
• Experience: Most employers require 2–5 years of "bedside" or acute care experience to ensure the nurse has the clinical judgment to assess patients without physical contact.
• Technical Literacy: Proficiency in using EHR systems (like Epic) and conferencing software.
• Communication: Exceptional active listening and verbal communication skills are critical to "read" a patient's status through voice and video alone.
