Job Description:

Responsibilities
 
  • Tax Preparation & Compliance: Prepare, review, and submit quarterly and annual federal, state, and local income tax returns. Maintain tax calculations, general ledger balances, and fixed asset ledgers.
  • Research & Planning: Monitor legislative developments and research tax laws to identify deductions, credits, and tax-saving strategies.
  • Audit Support: Gather documentation, correspond with officials, and represent clients or the organization during IRS and state audits.
  • Advisory & Communication: Educate clients and executive leadership on best practices, explain complex tax codes clearly, and handle vendor or regulatory correspondence.
 
Qualifications & Requirements
 
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a Master’s degree in Taxation.
  • Certifications: A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or Enrolled Agent (EA) status is highly preferred or mandatory for many roles.
  • Experience: Proven experience (typically 3–5 years) in tax preparation, accounting, or advisory services.
  • Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of tax codes, accounting principles, and financial systems. Proficiency in using tax research databases, accounting platforms, and advanced Excel is essential.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, exceptional attention to detail, time management, and the ability to maintain strict client confidentiality.
