Job Description:

• Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough clinical interviews to evaluate patient history, lifestyle habits, and specific sleep complaints.
• Behavioral Therapy: Deliver targeted Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) to change negative thoughts and habits keeping patients awake.
• Treatment Planning: Design personalized sleep management plans incorporating stimulus control, sleep restriction, and relaxation training.
• Data Interpretation: Review and interpret patient sleep diaries, actigraphy reports, or diagnostic data from overnight sleep studies.
• Patient Education: Teach patients and families proper sleep hygiene, the mechanics of sleep, and how to manage stress.
• Collaborative Care: Coordinate with sleep physicians, pulmonologists, and neurologists to manage patients requiring medical devices like CPAP machines.

• Education: Master’s degree or PhD in Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related healthcare field.
• Licensure: Valid state license to practice psychotherapy or clinical counseling.
• Specialized Training: Certification or dedicated training in CBT-I or Behavioral Sleep Medicine (BSM) is highly preferred.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze behavioral patterns, sleep logs, and clinical test outcomes.
• Communication: Strong active listening and empathetic verbal skills to guide anxious patients through behavioral changes.
