SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR

Job Description:

Responsibilities
 
  • Audit Planning & Execution: Define audit scope, execute risk-based audit programs, and lead end-to-end walkthroughs of functional and operational units.
  • Control Testing: Assess the design and operating effectiveness of financial, operational, and IT controls, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed working papers and draft comprehensive audit reports outlining risks, control gaps, and value-added recommendations.
  • Monitoring & Follow-up: Track management's implementation of agreed-upon recommendations and conduct follow-up audits to ensure remediation.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with process owners and assist audit management in reporting results to the Audit Committee.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior and staff auditors.
 
Requirements & Qualifications
 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) are strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Typically 5+ years of progressive experience in internal auditing, public accounting, or a related corporate finance field.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), risk management frameworks, and IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) standards.
 
Essential Skills
 
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to assess complex financial data and identify loopholes or areas for cost savings.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to facilitate discussions and gain buy-in from all levels of management.
  • Project Management: Capability to own and manage multiple concurrent audit engagements with little direct supervision.
