Job Description:

Responsibilities
  • Quality Management System (QMS): Drive the development, implementation, and maintenance of laboratory quality policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs). 
  • Audit & Compliance: Coordinate internal and external quality audits, ensure regulatory compliance, and prepare the laboratory for accreditation.
  • Document Control: Manage the distribution, versioning, and archiving of technical documents and quality records.
  • Proficiency Testing & EQA: Oversee the lab's participation in External Quality Assurance (EQA) and Proficiency Testing (PT) programs.
  • Non-conformance & CAPA: Log quality incidents, investigate root causes, and develop Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). 
  • Equipment & Inventory: Monitor instrument calibration, maintenance, and validation records to ensure equipment operates optimally. 
  • Staff Training: Identify quality training needs, provide orientation to new staff, and ensure competency assessments are completed. 
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related scientific field.
  • Certification: Certification or licensure to practice as a Medical Laboratory Scientist is often required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years of working experience in a clinical, diagnostic, or reference laboratory setting, ideally within an accredited facility.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of laboratory QMS, proficiency in data analysis, excellent communication, and acute attention to detail.
