Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Coding: Review inpatient medical records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and DRG codes.
- Insurance Approvals: Coordinate with insurance teams, TPAs, and clinicians to obtain pre-approval and precertification for inpatient procedures.
- Documentation: Analyze records for compliance, ensuring medical necessity is met before submission.
- Denial Management: Identify documentation gaps and follow up on pending or denied claims.
- Communication: Liaison between doctors, nursing staff, and payers regarding clinical details.
Requirements
- Education: Background in healthcare (e.g., BSc Nursing, Pharmacy, BPT, or Allied Health).
- Skills: Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding systems (ICD-10, DRG).
