Job Description:

Responsibilities
Policy Development & Compliance
  • HSE Management Systems: Design and execute comprehensive HSE strategies aligned with company goals and international frameworks like ISO standards. 
  • Regulatory Alignment: Monitor local, state, and federal laws to guarantee the organization strictly adheres to evolving environmental and safety legislation. 
  • Safety Documentation: Author and update emergency plans, safety manuals, and legal documentation for corporate and field operations.
Hazard Identification & Risk Management
  • Risk Assessments: Conduct routine Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA) to mitigate operational vulnerabilities. 
  • Workplace Inspections: Oversee regular on-site inspections of machinery, infrastructure, and employee workflows to spot unsafe practices. 
  • Subcontractor Screening: Evaluate third-party vendors and subcontractors to ensure their compliance with organizational safety guidelines. 
Training & Culture Promotion
  • Educational Programs: Develop and deliver health, safety, and environmental protection training modules for workers and contractors.
  • Safety Awareness: Organize safety drills, emergency preparedness training, and informational webinars to keep teams alert.
  • Toolbox Talks: Track the consistency and impact of routine shift-start safety discussions managed by supervisors. 
Incident Management & Auditing
  • Root Cause Analysis: Lead meticulous investigations into workplace accidents, close calls, and environmental incidents.
  • Corrective Actions: Implement preventative measures following an incident to eliminate the possibility of a recurrence.
  • HSE Audits: Coordinate internal and external safety audits to evaluate the real-world performance of organizational policies.
  • Metrics Reporting: Compile injury statistics and environmental impact data into analytical reports for executive leadership. 
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Degree: A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Typically requires 5 to 10+ years of progressive experience in safety roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position. 
Professional Certifications
  • NEBOSH Diploma/IGC (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health).
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional).
  • OSHA compliance certifications or region-specific equivalents. 
Skills & Physical Demands
  • Analytical Skills: High capability to evaluate technical data, spot risk trends, and execute root-cause modeling.
  • Leadership & Communication: Exceptional ability to direct safety teams, collaborate with management, and clearly explain rules to staff.
  • Physical Stamina: Capability to climb industrial platforms, carry inspection equipment, and navigate rugged project sites.
