Responsibilities

Traffic Operations & Design: Optimize traffic signal timing, phasing, and coordination. Design geometric elements like channelization, roundabouts, signage, and pavement markings.
Modeling & Simulation: Develop microsimulation and capacity models using industry software to predict traffic impacts, assess Level of Service (LOS), and evaluate bottlenecks.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect and analyze traffic data, crash records, and volume counts. Draft technical reports and present findings to stakeholders and government agencies.
Project Management: Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets. Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering required. Master’s Degree and certifications like PE or PTOE are often preferred.
Software Proficiency: Mastery of traffic analysis and simulation tools such as Synchro, VISSIM, HCS, SIDRA, and VISUM.
Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with nationally accepted guidelines and manuals (e.g., Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), AASHTO).
Communication: Excellent technical writing and presentation abilities for engaging with clients, public agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.
