Job Description:

• Preventive & Diagnostic Care: Conducting dental exams for infants, performing cleanings, applying fluoride treatments and sealants, and reviewing X-rays.
• Restorative & Therapeutic Care: Treating cavities with fillings, performing root canals (pulpotomies) on baby teeth, treating gum diseases, and repairing dental injuries like fractured or dislocated teeth.
• Orthodontic Evaluation: Monitoring the growth and development of teeth and jaws to catch malocclusions early.
• Behavioral & Sedation Management: Utilizing specialized techniques, including behavior management, sedation (minimal, moderate, or deep), or general anesthesia to treat anxious or young patients.
• Patient Education: Teaching children and parents about proper oral hygiene habits, brushing, flossing, and addressing habits like thumb-sucking.
• Emergency Care: Providing emergency dental care for acute pain or traumatic injuries.
• Record Management: Maintaining accurate, up-to-date patient records and collaborating with pediatricians. 

• Education: A four-year dental school degree followed by specialized training in pediatric dentistry.
• Certifications: Valid state dental license and pediatric dentistry certification (or board eligibility).
• Skills: Patience, excellent communication skills for dealing with children and parents, and proficiency in behavioral management techniques.
