COST CONTROL ENGINEER

Job Description:

Responsibilities
  • Budget & Cost Control: Developing project cost baselines, tracking expenditures, and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Preparing weekly/monthly MIS reports, cash flow reports, and cost-to-complete forecasts to identify potential overruns.
  • Variance Analysis:
     Analyzing budget variances by comparing actual costs (labor, equipment, subcontractors) to the approved budget.
Change Management: Reviewing project change orders, contract modifications, and subcontractor invoices to manage costs and avoid claims.
Procurement Support: Reviewing purchase requisitions and supplier/vendor invoices to capture project expenditures.
 
Qualifications and Skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or a related technical field.
  • Experience: Proven experience in cost estimation, project controls, or budgeting, ideally within construction or engineering industries.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and work with complex financial spreadsheets.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills for interacting with project managers, stakeholders, and contractors.
