Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Contract Governance: Review and administer head contracts, subcontracts, and work orders to ensure all parties uphold agreed-upon terms, conditions, and deliverables.
- Payment Administration: Oversee the progress claim process by verifying vendor invoices, evaluating completed work, processing certificates of payment, and releasing statutory holdbacks.
- Change Management: Assess variations to the contract, prepare change orders, and analyze the impacts of scope adjustments, delays, or extensions of time.
- Documentation & Records: Manage robust document archives, including Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, shop drawings, risk registers, and daily inspection reports.
- Risk & Claims Management: Identify potential schedule or budget risks before they escalate, analyze the rationale for claims, and implement avoidance/mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the unbiased focal point of communication between the client, project managers, contractors, and consultants to avoid disputes.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: A University Degree or College Diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: Typically requires 3+ years of work experience in contract administration, preferably handling procurement and claims management in public or private infrastructure sectors.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of construction methodologies, ability to interpret blueprints, perform quantity take-offs, and produce cost estimates.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills to coordinate the efforts of varying project stakeholders.
